the real problem

i've been thinking about this for days. (i know, i should be doing the laundry.) but what it comes down to is this: i just don't like edward. i don't think he's interesting. i wouldn't want to hang out with him for an entire saturday. i don't get chills whenever he walks into a scene.

so go ahead. enlighten me. what's so great about him?

bella is enthralled by him because he loves her. and because they are tragically MFEO. you know, high school mentality, you want whatever is bad for you. and you'll do whatever it takes to get it, even if it's irrational.

for the record though i don't hate edward. i like both him and jacob just fine. I don't really love ella all that much.

You and my cousin are reading the same books...must be something to them! Maybe I'll run to my library and get them so I can see what all the "fuss" is about!

Okay, I was goign to read your blog, but I'm only halfway through Twilight so I'll have to edit all the Stephenie Meyers comments so I'm not swayed one way or another while I read. . . .Becky again.

I've figured out why I can't stand Bella and Edward's relationship! It's because they have never once had a discussion that didn't revolve around their obsession with one another! And that always leads to a discussion over why the other person is crazy for loving them. Hello! Real life isn't like this! People who don't have common interests don't make it long in a relationship, let alone marriage (that's supposed to last an eternity)! You have to have more to tie yourselves to one another than just the fact that you're soooo in love! I know Stephenie would probably defend herself by saying that there just isn't time in her books to write about everyday commonplace conversations between the two, but because she hasn't she's giving the (wrong) illusion that love should be about two people who fall for one another over very shallow, surface level things such as looks or one's inability to read the other's thoughts, and not about talking about your philosophies on life or what your interests are or the like. And the clincher is that that's what Bella has with Jacob! She fell in love with him because they have fun together, doing things they both enjoy, and they like each other's personalities and just spending time together. Can you tell I'm a little crazed about this? Sorry. Thanks for letting me vent. :)

WOW, Jessie first of all I just have to tell you how much I LOVE your blog!!! You are an incredible writer!

But down to business... I was pretty much a die hard Edward fan all the way, and you actually have me considering Jacob now, that's impressive! But I'd still have to say that I'm in love Edward. I know it probably is kind of immature, but I'm a hopeless romantic. And he's the Prince Charming who comes and sweeps you off your feet and is your knight in shining armour. He is a gentleman who is in love with Bella and would do anything for her. What more could a girl ask for?!?!
About the whole inferiority complex, it's true, but I think we all have days when we look at our lovers and think, How did I ever get so lucky?
I'm still hopelessly in love with Edward!!!!

after reading these books for the second time, i'm coming around to your point of view. i'd probably go for ben though. angela seems pretty down to earth and smart; i trust her instincts. :-)
